Exhibition: 02/11/24 – 31/01/25
Prepare to be in awe of these vibrant, larger-than-life paper mache creatures, handcrafted by the young and wildly imaginative artists of Hedland. This is not just an exhibition – it’s an immersive experience that celebrates the boundless creativity of children.
During the lead-up, the team at the Courthouse Gallery+Studio ran a series of youth workshops to teach kids (and their parents) the art of paper mache. Participants were able to create their own pieces and collaborate on giant, crazy creations that contributed to this fantastic display.
We challenged our young artists to dream up the most bizarre and fantastical creatures by merging together animals, mythical beings, and anything their minds could conjure. The result is a breathtaking display of originality. Step into a world where big, bright, and bold creatures come together, forming a landscape of endless possibilities. As a highlight, our friends from Orange Studio helped create a special animation using all the paper mache creations.
Explore the vivid imaginations of our talented young artists, delve into the stories behind their unique creations, and even craft your own adventures as you journey through the magical realm of How the Wild Things Shine. This exhibition promises to leave you enchanted.
