Jacqueline Craigs Survivor
ARTWORK DESCRIPTION: “ This artwork is based on a little plant that grows in the cracks and crevices around my home. The petite white flowers sit high above the plant whilst the leaves hover low to the ground.
The stem is made from thread-covered twisted copper wire. I use graphic markers to colour my thread adding details such as veins on the leaves. The base is a piece of reclaimed jarrah wood with a natural crack running through. I have used the natural crack to anchor the piece as a nod to the natural environment this plant grows in. The base has been treated with linseed oil for a soft finish.” – Jacqueline Craigs
