Radius 6.0 Mentor and Exhibition Program (2025)
Francis is a self-taught landscape and nature photographer from Port Hedland, dedicated to capturing the beauty of the Pilbara through his camera lens. His work showcases the natural splendour and unique qualities of Port Hedland and the Pilbara, aiming to challenge the perception that it is merely ‘just a mining town.’ Through a diverse range of themes, including the industrial landscape, striking red dirt, magical sunsets, and fascinating wildlife like the Flatback Turtles, each photograph tells the story of this unique region.
Currently experimenting with different editing styles, Francis strives to refine his artistic practice and connect with a community of creatives. His goal is to spread the beauty of the Pilbara, showcasing its visual allure and challenging perceptions through his growing talent and unique perspective.
"Some of the themes I explore in my work is how best to capture nature and the beauty in Port Hedland and the Pilbara and how to bring awareness to people who think It's just a mining town and it doesn't have a lot to offer. I think it would be important to exhibit my work in Radius 6.0 to help spread the beauty of the Pilbara."
