Courthouse Gallery+Studio

As part of the Stitched & Bound travelling exhibition public program, The Junction Co. and  Courthouse Gallery+Studio is proud to host Pip Hoy in September as our artist-in-residence.

Pip is a multidisciplinary textile and multimedia artist whose work is grounded in sustainability, social connection, and storytelling. Drawing on traditional techniques such as appliqué, embroidery, and quilting, she creates warm, reflective, and contemporary pieces using new, vintage, and reclaimed compostable plant-based materials. Her practice is deeply informed by global issues, personal narratives, and the meditative rhythm of repetitive mark-making.

A third-culture kid with a lifelong curiosity for people and place, Pip’s work explores the dialogue between inner and outer worlds. Through her residency, she will continue this exploration – inviting the community into her process through a series of public and community workshops. While she is not creating new work specifically for the exhibition, her time in residence will contribute to the development of future projects and offer a rare opportunity to engage with her evolving practice.

Pip’s work has been exhibited widely, including most recently at the Holmes à Court Gallery as part of WAFTA’s twentyFIVE+ exhibition. Her pieces are held in private collections across the globe, and her studio practice is currently based at Tresillian Arts Centre.
