Artist in Residence: Ruth Leigh

We are excited to announce that renowned artist Ruth Leigh will be joining our Artist in Residency program this March. This residency will focus on creating community portraits through life drawing sessions and images of local residents, encouraging public participation. Community members can be part of an upcoming exhibition in 2026 by being live-drawn or bringing a picture into the Courthouse Gallery+Studio.

Ruth Leigh, an award-winning artist from the Perth Hills, WA, brings over a decade of experience in regional and Indigenous arts programs. Her mentorship will guide participants through the creative process, exploring how different environments and settings influence perception. This residency offers a unique opportunity to engage with art personally and meaningfully, contributing to a collective portrait of our regional community.
