Red Earth Pinch Pot Hug Mug

Welcome back to our ceramic sessions! Clay, connection, and creativity is back at the Courthouse Gallery+Studio with this focus session being on our Red Earth Hug Mug Workshop – a tactile ceramics session celebrating the ancient art of pinch potting.

Using a clay body inspired by the rich, earthy tones of the Pilbara, participants will hand-shape their own Hug Mugs – rounded, personal forms designed to nestle perfectly in the palms of their makers. Mistakes aren’t even possible to make, as every impression is intentional, every curve is shaped by feel, not force.

Guided by gentle instruction, the workshop explores:
+ Pinching methods for even wall thickness
+ Surface textures and design choices that enhance the drinking experience
+ The simplicity of forming without tools, echoing 17,000 years of ceramic tradition

Each participant will end up with muddy hands and meaningful memories. This workshop is limited, booking are essential
