Nature in Layers – with Jacqueline Craigs
Join Jury Art Prize 2024 category winner Jaqueline Craigs for a creative textile workshop where fabric scraps become vibrant representations of Australian wildlife and flora. Participants will begin by designing their own interpretation of a chosen subject, such as a Wedgetail Eagle or native plant, before bringing it to life through layered fabric collage.
Using double-sided interfacing, fabric pieces are carefully arranged and ironed onto a backing fabric to form the design. The final piece is then detailed and secured with hand or machine stitching, adding depth, texture, and personal flair.
This workshop is perfect for anyone interested in textile art, collage, or Australian nature.
All materials are provided, and no sewing experience is necessary, just bring your creativity!
