On a clear winter night, a child asked Grandfather if Winter will ever leave; will it ever be warm again? ARTIST BIO

Elmari was born in Namibia and had an early career in fashion and product design. In Australia since 2012, she is continuing her love of the arts as an active printmaker, focussing on copper -plate etching, and jewellery making.
Her works reflect an intimate relationship with wilderness and the co-existence of individuals and communities within it.
Through 2014 to 2025, she has participated in over 50 group, joint and solo exhibitions and art awards, in Western Australia, Australia and overseas, winning numerous awards and prizes. She resides and works in the Southern Forests area of WA.
Elmari sees printmaking as a state of being, a window into her world. Striving to work away from other artistic influences, her stories and fragments of memories begin on the bare metal, where drawing the first lines into the resist finds a connection. Her stories are then transferred to paper; through multiple, small hand-cut copper-plates, which are used as symbols and words to translate her work.
