The Pilbara region of Western Australia covers over 507,000 sq kms and is recognized as one of the oldest landscapes on earth (3.5 billion years old). the regions golden Spinifex plains, magnificent Termite mounds scattered like sentinels in the vast expanse, rugged red iron-rich Ranges, dramatic plunging Gorges and abundant Wildlife create a living canvas of natural haunting beauty.
For me as an Artist the Pilbara is a timeless muse. The raw power of its landscape and untamed beauty is a constant reminder of nature’s Artistry. Through my creative process I hope to capture the essence of this remarkable region, helping to preserve its legacy for generations to come.

Janeen is a Professional Artist with over 35 years of experience. Working from her Coastal Garden Studio at Sunset beach, she specializes in Acrylic and Gouache Paintings, runs Winter Workshops, has Open Studios and a Biannual Solo Exhibition.
Through memory and observation Janeen creates joyful layered paintings that tells stories of her travels throughout the rich and ancient landscape of W.A. Her Paintings
are created by building up the surface of the canvas with dribbling, splattering, mark making, scratching, Lino and Mono printing. This adds a complexity and depth to her
Artworks, encouraging the viewer to look within. Her father, a Natural History Photographer and Conservationist greatly influenced how she perceives the natural world which has had a profound effect on her creativity.
In 2021 Janeen was selected as the first ‘Artist in Residence’ with Bush Heritage Australia at Hamelin Station Reserve in Shark Bay, W.A. and was also a Finalist in the Midwest
Business Excellence Awards for a Micro Business. In September 2023 she hosted her 8th Solo Exhibition in her coastal outdoor Garden Gallery and participates every spring in the ‘Geraldton open Studios’. Janeen also has her own exclusive collection of Textiles and Fine Art prints produced in Geraldton, is involved in Community and Public Art projects, Group Exhibitions, Art Residencies and has won numerous Art Awards within Australia. her Original
