Artwork Description:
This triptych is part of an ongoing, site-responsive exploration of childhood memory. Regular camping out east, among deeply weathered, ancient granite and red dirt landscapes are etched in my memory and preserved in these tins. This is the Garden Granites, just past Cue.
My focus is on key found and natural materials, collected from directly within the landscape that convey the passage of time. The integration of these materials maintains a mindful and sustainable art practice, with minimal resource consumption and use of toxic materials.

ARTIST BIO
“My practice demonstrates a strong sense of place, incorporating sculpture, mixed media, printmaking and
installation. I explore personal memory and local histories, as well as the character, wonder and peril of the
WA coastline, interior settings from my past, and my immediate surroundings. The language of materials is
a key aspect of my art, I have a passion for found objects, specimens, collections and the narratives embedded within them. I aim to maintain an eco-conscious contemporary practice with minimal resource consumption.” – Kelli Dawson
