PEOPLE'S CHOICE
ARTIST BIO
As a Contemporary Aboriginal Artist, I use my artwork as a visual narrative of my heritage as a Noongar, Banyjima and Nyiyaparli woman.
I am passionate about sharing stories of my connection to Country, culture and family history. Working predominately with acrylic on canvas, using symbols, lines, dots and textures in my paintings. My technique has evolved to create unique and original style of painting.
I create my artwork to express my knowledge, pay my respect to my ancestors and family and to pass down knowledge to community and our future generations.
I was recently awarded Highly commended award for the 2025 Collie Art Prize, with my painting ‘My Families Country’. The judges described “This artwork reflects the connection to country and the strong roots that draw us, form us and shape our personal identities. The artwork is exquisite in its skilful execution and its ability to draw together a personal narrative as well as a strong aesthetic appeal.”
