“I often find myself feeling lost, detached in a world where simplicity has faded.
My memories take me back to fishing, swimming, jumping off jetties – losing ourselves in time.
Creating my octopus work transports me to the past – Dad and I catching occy’s in terracotta pots, our bait for the day’s Dhufish catch. Now, I look forward to a world of patience, balance, and respect.: – Peta Riley

ARTIST BIO
My highly patterned, ocean forms, drawings and textile, interprets coastal Western Australia in a bright maximalist story. My creative practice covers many art disciplines. My specialist areas are ceramics, graphics and textile design.
I have been immersed in creative arts – traditional and contemporary; then went on to study visual arts at TAFE, which has led me to teaching and running my own art company and studio/gallery. The creative arts is my full-time profession.
