Artist statement: Gridlocked rotary blades, set to turn in opposing directions. Leading teeth are jammed. The design represents society gridlocks including recognising First Nations peoples in the Australian Constitution, changing the date of Australia Day away from when the First Fleet invaded, having appropriate facilities for all incarcerated youths in Western Australia.
Materials and techniques: Cotton fabrics, cotton-polyester thread, cotton wadding. Piecework. Ruler and stipple machine quilting.
