Artist statement: "Jack of All Trades" is a quilt that spotlights denim's evolution, transforming from humble workman's armour to a contemporary fashion emblem. The repurposed jean zips converging into the central shield symbolise the resilience of the fabric and its deep connection to the working class. Denim jeans, now a necessary fashion item, embody versatility in our everchanging cultural landscape.
Materials and techniques: Upcycled denim jeans, 100% cotton wadding and backing, lightweight adhesive interfacing. Central shield made as separate unit and appliqued to the background of raw edged strips of denim.
